2  Enclosed Garage Cabinets
If you want the most clutter-free look then wall-mounted cabinets are the way to go. They're also great for storing your most valuable items such as your power tools and sporting equipment .... just add locks. Cabinets come in different heights and depths with adjustable shelving to fit your needs.

3  Pegboard or Slat Wall Systems
Perfect for the side walls of your garage because they take up the least amount of space. They come in handy for ladders, shovels, rakes or any other taller items. Above a workbench, they can hold all the smaller tools you use most often such as screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc.

Problem #1:  Wasted Space Above the Shelf
Moving the shelf up one foot will gain extra space below for a second shelf or a floor shoe rack and still give you space above for storage bins or boxes, folded sweaters, etc.

Problem #2. No Shoe Storage
Consider adding a bookcase for storing all your shoes.
